Butterflies for Mothers Day

OK so I'm cheating a little with a card for today... this is one I made for the current issue of Papercraft Inspirations whilst testing one of the projects using the fab Sizzix dies that you stamp and then cut out. I think it fits well with this weeks Less Is More challenge of punches or dies. Hopefully I'll get change later in the week to put together one of the ideas I have...

Take 3

Well my life definitely took over this week and this is the first time I've been anywhere near blogger since Monday so I apologise for no commenting or crafting....I think it's going to be like this for a couple of weeks :-(....

Anyhow, it is Saturday and I've managed to sneak in my craft room for a short while as I have some commissions I have to do before I'm off to Doncaster and Lincoln until Tuesday. This weeks Less is More is Take 3... and Lady and Diva LIM have asked us to use 3 of the last challenges in 1.  I've chosen:

1. Week 11 [Apr 16th] Theme Acetate
2. Week 22 [July 2nd] Colour Shades of Blue
3. Week 16 [May 21st] Theme Butterfly/Butterflies
But it covers so many more of them.... Here it is....

I'm not that happy with the sentiment placement and the photo to be honest so I may be back later in the week... if I can manage to leave work at at reasonable time lol....

Card Recipe:
Acetate: Stash
Pearl Blue: Anna Marie Blueprint Paper
Sizzix: Tim Holtz Butterflies
Papers: Pink Petticoat ( and out of my scrap draw too...)
Seam Binding: The Ribbon Girl

I've now got these orders to do....

Have a great long weekend...

Enjoy the Journey

Well since I've set the challenge of 100 cards I thought I better do a little crafting tonight.  I picked up some Tim Holtz stamps from Stampers Anonymous on Saturday at Aintree specifically for Men's cards but I just loved the sentiments on them and I just to put them to use.... This ones just a simple one and I'm entering it into the following challenges... Less is More - Butterfly, Clean & Simple - Sketch, A spoonful of sugar - Things with Wings, Flutterby Wednesday  - CAS, My Mums Craft Shop - Fave Colour.  Here is the card....

The sentiment is from Playful Journey set and is stamped in Grape Jelly Memento onto the back of a scrap of basil card stock.  The scrap of paper is from Paper chase and I really just love it.  The butterfly is cut out using a Tim Holtz sizzix die ( movers and shapers) out of the same paper stuck on upside down. It's finished off with some scraps of ribbon and a little bling.
Hope you like it....

Bonjour

Well I'm not normally this late on the Less is More challenge but life has taken over crafting for numerous reasons over the past couple of weeks so crafting has had to take a back seat.... This weeks challenge is Embossing and I've also combined this with Penny Black Saturdays Clean & Simple challenge. Here is the card...

The image is Penny Blacks "Everest Next" and I got it when I went over to Inspirations in Preston after Easter in their bargin bin.  I do love Penny Black and came back with 5 stamps to add to my already huge collection.  The sentiment is from a Sizzix clear set "France".  I've simply embossed both with black embossing powder onto a kraft card blank... it was that simple..... The only thing I have a bugbear about is how the card stock bends... do anyone have a way to stop it doing this??? I'd use embossing powder (from quite a big stash) a lot more if I knew how...

Anyhow... enough waffling I've got some new LOTV stamps to play with Lol..

Mint Choc Chip...

Well today's One Stop Craft Challenge is Ice Cream, whether that be images or colours... I thought I would go for a more CAS card today with the colours of Mint Choc Chip Ice Cream.... Here it is...

Cards is from scrap box as well as the ribbon. I have run the lime green co-ordinations card through a sizzix embossing folder.  The tiny sentiment is from LOTV ticket words stamps.

Hope you have a great weekend

Me and My Cat

So today's I Love Promarkers challenge is not to use DPs.... I do love challenges like this as not so long ago I rarely used any DPs at all. I've tried to give it some dimension so the photos were not easy to take.  I've also entered this one into My Mums Craft Shop challenge which this week is "Flowers".  Here is the card.......

The image is from LOTV "Me and My Cat", I've coloured in with promarkers ( Ice Grey 1,2,4, Khaki, Marsh, Olive, Amethyst, Orchid, Tan, Cinnamon, Chestnut, Ginger, Spice, Apricot, Oatmeal, Buttercup, Mustard, Cerise, Rose, Pale Pink, Baby Pink, Blossom). The sentiment is also from LOTV.  I've used a sizzix embossing folder ( one of the Tim Holtz ones) to emboss the stone effect and then rubbed in memento ink ( grey, brown and black) to get the stone effect.  It's finished off with a couple of butterfly's and a scrap of ribbon.

Hope you like it....

Chase Your Dreams

Well what a beautiful day it is and I've been awake for hours.... I actually made this card last night but couldn't get a decent picture of it.  It's inspired by The Sweet Stop Sketch #104 and is also perfect for this weeks Cupcake Craft Challenge #138 "Lots of Layers", and this weeks Flutterby Wednesday as well. Here is the card....

The papers are from My Minds Eye Tickled Pink collection, Seam binding and dew drops from the Ribbon Girl and I have used Sizzix Tim Holtz Butterflies. The Tim Holtz ATC card was used to cut out some of the layers. The sentiment is from a freebie at Scrap-a-licious Times, you really should check these out as they are amazing.

Anyhow hope you all have a lovely day... I'm looking forward to 5 o'clock when I have no work for a whole 11 days yippee....

Puss in a Pink Boot

Well time for yet another card... I seem to be getting later this week but it's so busy at work I'm just glad I have some time to make cards....
The main inspiration for today's card does come from Passion for Promarkers "White on White" challenge.  So enough waffling, here is the card..

The image is LOTV's Puss In Boots (another not yet inked until today), and I've coloured it in with Promarkers ( Ice Grey 1-5, Black, Blossom, Fuchsia Pink and Pink Carnation).  I've embossed white card with a cuttlebug embossing folder ( swiss dots).  It's finished off with some pink tulip seam binding and and a couple of clear dew drops. The sentiment is from a Fizzy Moon set.

I'm entering this into the following challenges as well ..... Crafty Catz Furry Friends,  Fab n Funky Dots & Spots, Craft Your Passion You've Been Spotted. I've also used the Sketch from Sketch n Stash.

Hope you like it

Touch of a Red Poppy

Well it's Saturday morning and that means only one thing... A new Less Is More challenge and this week it's a touch of red.  Since I'd not made my own Mums Mothers day card yet I thought this would be perfect.  Here is the card....

The poppies are made using the scrunch method that Jo showed me at Harrogate although I've flattened them back down again, the centres are gem brads from the sale at hobby craft ( sorry don't know make).  The swirl is Sizzix bigz die Flourish and Leaf and the sentiment was printed on PC (Hill House font)

Hope you like it, I'm sure my mum will

Ps my mum cannot use a PC so this is safe being posted Lol.....

Rosette, Teddy & Cupcake - A Trio of Less is More Sketch

OK, now I think I'm obsessed with this weeks Less Is More sketch, but I really love the composition.  Any how, I've used it for my last Mother's day cards, so here they are....

Rosette
The first used Tim Holtz Sizzix Die Mini Paper Rosette, papers are pink petticoat out of my stash box and ribbon is dove craft.  The button is from American Crafts in the sale and the white ribbon recycled from the packaging I get Ribbon Girl orders in!!

Teddy
The second is a really old Sizzix/Ellison die and I made up these teddies a while ago.  Papers again are pink petticoat from scrap box, pink pearl is from Hobby House and white ribbon is Club green from stash.

Cupcake
The third card uses pink petticoat image ( these I had printed off from couple of weeks ago) and pink petticoat paper.  The image is coloured in with promarkers ( Blossom, fuchsia pink, pastel blue, denim blue, mulberry). The ribbon is Dove craft and the pearl Hobby House.

Hope you like them... promise I'm off to make something different now lol

Art Deco Lady...

I'm back again with another card.... This card is my first Art Deco one and when Jenny at work asked me to do Art Deco I kind of freaked out a little bit as I didn't see this as my sort of thing.  Hope you like it.

The image is from Debbi Moores CD (Borrowed from Lizy which I know isn't truly crafty ethical but I was desperate lol). The Frame is from Sizzix ( Bigz Ornate # 3) and the white paper is just printing card.  It's finished off with a little bling and some black glitter. Simple but hopefully effective. The font is a Rennie Mackintosh like one called Hill House free from searching for a font.

Hope you like it.  I'm going to enter it into this weeks DYSU challenge which is Shine.

Quartz & White

I'm back with my second card of the night, this time it's a Mothers day card as I'm trying to make enough for all my orders.  This was inspired by this weeks Crafts and Me Photo with texture challenge.  I'm also entering it into this weeks Cupcake Craft Challenge which is Monochromatic.  Here is my card.

I've printed off the Quartz "Washed Out" paper from Pink Petticoat onto card and then embossed part of it using a folder form Sizzix out of the Flowers & Bowstrings set. I've then lightly sanded over the texture.  This is mounted on pearlescent card and on more of the quartz colour.  I've added some white ribbon and a simple sentiment printed from my PC.  its' finished off with a few gems and a bow.

Hope you like it, I love this colour (It's the colour of the Big Shot Pro I'm aspiring to get when I finally get into my new craft studio).
