Fancy a Cupcake?

Thought I'd do a little card tonight with main inspiration coming from Cupcake craft challenges " Cooking Up a Storm". I wanted to do a "Pretty & Distressed" look... Hope I mastered it...

To distress the paper  I used a Acrylic Nail sanding block ( love these as they are so easy to hold and really cheap) once I had torn the edges.  it works wonders especially on printed paper.

Organic Flower Trio

Well after a long day at work and BBQ at Lizy's I thought I should make at least one card to keep me on track with my 100 card challenge.  The circles I cut out for apertures from this weeks Less Is More Sketch challenge were still on my desk so I thought I would utilise them in another entry.

I've tried to go for something a little bit different but I have kept the colours very muted. I used scraps of the first edition paper to line the inside and then used the circles to bridge the front of the card together where I cut it into pieces to give the impression of the border across the trio.  The wooden flowers are from Kars and the pearls from Hobby House.  Fairly simple but I like it...Hope you do too...

I'm off to read a few chapters on my kindle.... hope you all have a good Tuesday

Every Man's Home is His Castle

On my way yesterday to help my BF move flat ( he's going from 17th floor to the 1st in the same building) I popped in to a little craft shop in Farnworth, Bolton - Crafty by Nature and found a little gem of a stamp set that I knew would be perfect to make him a little house warming card. Here it is:

Summer Fields

Morning LIMettes, well it's Saturday yet again and I'm not up as early as I normally am this week.  Anyhow Lady & Diva LIM have given us a sketch this week at Less Is More and I had about a million ideas so you may see me a couple of times this week lol... here is the card I made...

Using a coloured card blank in pale yellow (I do like not white card blanks if you hadn't all already noticed lol),  I have put 3 circles into the co-ordination card with a nestie and then raised this off using foam pads ( I know... but they don't squash lol) and put DP behind it... It's finished off with the little butterflies. I have left it without a sentiment as I am going to use it as a little notelet. Simple

Little Blue Bird

Well what a manic week.. thank you everyone for the birthday wishes and I promise I'll post my blog candy soon.....

I've managed to get a little time in the craft room today as I really wanted to enter the Design Team call at Polly Crafts.  If you haven't already seen it, this is open until Sunday ( Wish I had seen it a little earlier...).  I'm fairly new to their designs but they are just so cute and when Lizy mentioned the DT call I just had to give it a little try with a simple CAS design.... Really hope you and the guys at Polly Craft like it...

I have used a paper piecing technique by printing the digi image onto digi paper. I've only used promarkers being used on the little blue bird.  I've added a little faux stitching around the edges. The DPs are a new freebie I downloaded from Summertime Designs and they are just gorgeous.

Sweetheart In Red....

Just a quick one for tonight but I thought I would make a little card for my other half to go with a present I got for him and had this idea of tone on tone buttons in the form of a heart.... Here it is...

It's simply a heart hand drawn in a faux stitch and cut out and then filled with a selection of buttons from my stash. This is then mounted on red card (10cm by 10cm).  And since it is monotone, it's another perfect entry into this weeks Less Is More Monochrome Challenge...

Hope you like it...

Time is a Companion

Seems I am on a roll now with monotone cards and this one was simply an accident using shades of brown.  I followed the sketch from Clean & Simple # 143 and used the Tim Holtz stamps again... I'm loving these... Here it is...

Now the backing card seems lighter on the photo in real life.. I'm not really liking the photo at all.

Since it is monotone I might as well show it at Less Is More ( they may get sick of me this week lol)....

Here is what I used.....
Card Recipe
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa
Stamps: Stampers Anon Playful Journey
Card: Stash
Embossing Folder: Cuttlebug
Punch: Martha Stewart

Hope you all have a great day...

Armchair Bear CAS Style

I really am going back to my routes with a more clean and simple style and although I really do mix up my card styles CAS is where I started. This little number didn't start off this way, in fact I just couldn't find a DP the right colour so I gave up and decided to cut it out and put it straight on a card blank that I had printed a sentiment onto. I love it so much I'm going to do the same with a couple more images as quick fathers day cards. Here it is...

I'm entering this into the following challenges:
CES Challenge - Clean & Simple
Do It With Digis - It's All About the Boys ( Used Digi Sentiment).

Being Together - Cards for Men DT

It's Monday again and time for another challenge at Cards for Men and this week its Black & Blue and we are sponsored by Heartsong Designs.  Here is my card....

I've used the Hot Air Balloon image from the sponsor and coloured in the balloon part with promarkers ( Mignight & Powder blue).  I then cut this out and added in some twine from The Ribbon Girl.  I then re-printed the image in some kraft paper to get the basket.  The clouds are made from cotton wool and I've used an image from Scrap-a-Licious.

Hope you all get to visit the rest of the fab DT.  Enjoy the challenge and good luck

Iris

Well I did get a little telling off yesterday for replacing the white with pink at Less is More and I should have probably done shades of pink so I thought I would have another crack at a fully Monotone card... this time with shades of purple.... Here is my very simple card....

The stamp is from Penny Black Allegro T for Transparent inked with Memento Grape Jelly, the ribbon from stash and I've added just a touch of Faerie Kisses Diamond Sparkles...

I'll be back tomorrow.....

Field of Flowers...

This weeks My Partner in Crafting Crime is to use an Uncoloured Image so I thought I would give this a go...So using the sketch from The Sugar Bowl #61 (Theme - Love) and an yet to be inked Gorjuss stamp here is the card.....

The image is Poppy Fields and I have stamped this with Emboss ink and the heat embossed it using black powder (just to stop it looking so flat). The papers are from Stampin Up's Sweet Pea stack and I've made little rolled roses using a circle nestie and cutting it into a spiral. A few pearls from the hobby house are added around the flowers. It's finished off with a simple sentiment printed off from PC ( font is Anke Print).

I'm entering it into the following challenges....

My Partner in Crafting Crime -  Uncoloured Image
The Sugar Bowl - #61 Sketch with optional Love/Wedding Theme
Diva's in Design - Florals
A Spoonful of Sugar - 154 Flower Power

Hope you like it.... I think I quite like the non-coloured effect

Aeroplane

Well I have had a manic afternoon transforming my craft room from the mess below.... after my ribbon storage fell over and broke :-(

to this.....

But I thought I would sneak in a little card using Aeroplane from LOTVs latest release and following the sketch from The Sweet Stop # 111.

I've coloured this in with promarkers ( satin, sandstone, cool grey 1, caramel, almond, sunkissed pink, mustard, buttercup, pear green, marsh green, moss & blender).  The DPs are from a fabulous set that arrived in the post this morning thanks to the wonderful as a gift to help me get to the magic 100 cards from Mandi... they are Stampin Ups Sweet Pea stack and they are gorgeous and I now want to buy more Stampin Up stuff.....
Twine is from the ribbon girl and buttons ( I think they are basic grey) are from stash.  I've printed off a simple sentiment from my PC using homemade apple pie font.

I'm entering this into the following challenges...

The Sweet Stop - #111 Sketch
Charisma Cardz - #22 Something that Flies
Craft Your Days Away - #21 Fathers Day

Hope you like it.... I'm off to watch CSI now

Black & Pink - Monochrome @ LIM

Happy Saturday LIMettes.... Can't believe it's time for another challenge at Less is More and this week it's monochrome.  So I thought about traditional Black and White... but in the end I thought the pink would be far more dramatic... here it is...

The stamps are Tim Holtz from stamper anonymous and they are stamped with black memento onto a pink card blank that I had previously ruined lol.  This is then cut out with a nestie. I've added yet another butterfly and then I've then used an embossing folder (I'll try and find out the name lol) and then and a little bit of ribbon.  It was a 6 x 6 card blank but due to the embossing folder not being quite wide enough... I had to trim it slightly lol.

I'll be back later in the week and I promise I'll have time for some more commenting this week :-)

Champion Ted

Well. fathers day is just around the corner and there are few challenges that are "Man" focused especially from the new challenge " Here Comes the Boys" with a theme this week of Father/Husband and since I managed the Top 3 on last times challenge I thought I would have another bash.
I've used the sketch from Sketch Saturday #157  and I'm entering it into Crafting For All Season #2 - Fathers Day and Passion for Promarkers - Sporting Marvels. I thought I would use another of the new LOTV stamps and here is my card....

The image is LOTV No 7 Bear and have coloured this in with promarkers ( Putty, Cardinal, Caramel, Cocoa, Burnt Sienna and Cool Grey 1). The spotty black paper is Pink Petticoat and the Twine from the Ribbon Girl.  Buttons and white ribbon are from my stash... Sentiment is courier and printed from PC.

Hope you like it....
